Academic and Research Facilities
The University of Cincinnati, part of the State University Systems of Ohio, is among the top 200 universities in the world. The National Science Foundation has recently ranked the University of Cincinnati in the top 10% (34th out of 489) of all public
research universities in the USA based on its more than $443 million in extramurally sponsored grant awards.
About eighty percent of these awards support biomedical research and training. UC is a leading 21st century urban research institution located on 473 acres with 117 buildings sited among expansive and interlinking sculptured green spaces, walkways, and watercourses.
Architecturally notable Vontz Center of Molecular Sciences, Cardiovascular Center, and CARE/Crawley buildings anchor our Academic Health Center. The University of Cincinnati, with more than 40,000 students, offers a myriad of student-centered services and resources and is located in Cincinnati's Uptown District

The Vontz Center for Molecular Studies, a Frank Gehry design, serves as the gateway to the Academic Health Center. Not only is the design of this research building stunning, but the work taking place in its laboratories is transforming fundamental biomedical understanding.

The Cardiovascular Research Center is home to the College of Medicine’s cardiovascular scientists and includes specialized equipment specific for their needs as well as extensive animal facilities.
