Acute Care Pathway
The Acute Care Pathway prepares you to be an outstanding acute care physician in any setting.
If you join this Pathway you will find:
A community of practice of acute care health practitioners
- Support and mentorship for those interested in hospital medicine
- Partnerships with other residents and attendings
- Opportunities to join or create inpatient quality improvement work, patient safety research, and patient experience projects
The Pathway consists of:
- Didactic experiences (examples include):
- Conflict Management
- Running Rapids & Codes
- Triaging
- Cost-Conscious care
- Wound Care
- Leading Goals of Care Discussions
- Performing QI work
- Addressing Social Determinants of Health
- Designer electives (e.g., ultrasound, anesthesia for intubation, quality improvement, emergency medicine)
- Quality improvement, patient safety, and systems level projects
- Mentorship by established academic hospitalist faculty
