This course will provide students with a brief introduction to the HIV/AIDS epidemic and will cover modes of transmission, the virus life cycle, prevention/education, treatment strategies, and social/ethical issues.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this course, the student will be able to:
- Describe the global HIV/AIDS epidemic
- Describe the modes of HIV transmission
- Describe the HIV replication cycle
- Outline HIV prevention and education strategies
- Describe current HIV treatment strategies
- Evaluate social and ethical issues related to HIV/AIDS
