Dr. Guan, Francis Brunning Professor and Chair, Department of Cancer Biology, has been awarded an NIH R01 renewal from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. The goal of the five year grant entitled “Regulation of neural stem cells and neurogenesis by autophagy genes” is to determine the molecular and cellular mechanisms of neural progenitor/stem cell regulation which can lead to the development of new treatments for neurodegenerative and related diseases.
