Jeanelle Martinez, PhD, and Evan Frank, PhD, researchers in the Department of Environmental Health, were recognized by the PETA International Science Consortium Ltd. Martinez and Frank were awarded for their contribution to the Adverse Outcome Pathway (AOP) Wiki, called "Adverse Outcome Pathway for Airway Irritation and Chemical Sensitization.” The award was given based on the merits of its use in the development of in vitro tests replacing the current animal testing model.
