Resident Outreach / Rad-AID

Our residents have spearheaded multiple initiatives throughout our department including the establishment of a chapter of Rad-AID, an international organization dedicated to improving and expanding radiology services in underserved areas in this country and worldwide. We send our resident representatives to a national meeting every year, and they return with great ideas for new projects. Current initiatives include:

	Jon Jacobson, MD performs outreach in rural Uganda developing shoulder ultrasound programs.
	Annual canned food drive for Freestore Foodbank of Cincinnati.
	Remote teleradiology reading from Hopital Universitaire de Mirebalais, in Mirebalas Haiti.
	Resident travel to Pakistan performing radiology readiness assessment survey.
	Resident travel to Georgetown, Guyana teaching fluoroscopy and reading CT images. Remote lecture series with Georgetown Hospital in Guyana.
